Commercial Description

The Plycem Bearing Walls (PBW) is a Formwork System to be use on cast in place reinforced concrete buildings base on loadbearing and non-loadbearing walls. The Plystone fibrocement boards are designed to support all the concrete pouring pressure and at the same time are made to remain on site as wall finish avoiding the extra work that implies the usage of regular formwork panels.

The PBW system is a prefabricated formwork for regular concrete buildings, made in one standardized manufacturing process which provides the steel reinforcement required for the design of the wall and is filled out on site with fluid concrete or self compacting concrete (SCC).

The concrete core of fibrocement board is a very flexible material, resistant to outdoor conditions, plagues, the humidity and fire.

Based on the concept of an industrialized process the PBW system provides a very high dimensional precision and gives reliability on the procurement of the materials.

Applications

The PBW system applies for the construction of cast in place reinforced concrete buildings, with main emphasis on buildings of several floors with loadbearing and non-loadbearing walls.

Components

  • PBW for loadbearing and non-loadbearing walls: Formworks to build structural and non-structural walls, produce according with shop drawings that indicates the steel location and dimension coordinating all the electromechanical systems and/or architectural requirements as door, windows, ducts with high precision and flexibility.
  • PBW Columns: Formworks to build columns, including the steel reinforcement and complying with the structural design requirements for seismic and non-seismic zones.
  • PBW Beams: Formworks to build beams, including the steel reinforcement and complying with the structural design requirements for seismic and non-seismic zones.
  • PBW concrete slab: Formworks to build concrete slab integrated with visible finish ceilings.

Types

PBW Walls, PBW Columns and PBW Beams

The fibrocement boards are made with 22mm of Plystone board, joined with steel patent special anchorage. The anchorage is bolted to the fibrocement with special galvanized nails that are not visible on the external surface of the board.

The fibrocement board will be the final surface finish of the wall and the joints between the panels are treaded with a mesh and epoxy material. The walls that might require special surface finishes can also be treated to have the look that the architect wants.

All the wall elements are fabricated with the required dimension, openings and they include from the manufacture the steel reinforcement required by the specifications of the structural design.

The different concrete thicknesses that we have with the PBW formwork system are:

  • Tt = 169mm (thickness of the concrete heart Tc = 125mm).
  • Tt = 194mm (thickness of the concrete heart Tc = 150mm).
  • Tt = 244mm (thickness of the concrete heart Tc = 200mm).
  • Tt = 294mm (thickness of the concrete heart Tc = 250mm).

The total thickness of the walls (Tt) is defined by the thickness of the concrete heart (Tc), plus the thickness of the two layers of Plystone of 22mm.

Other concrete thicknesses walls can be build by personal request.

PBW slab-ceiling, PBW stairs:

The formwork is custom-made with Plystone fibrocement board of 22mm with the dimension required by the project geometry to have an easy and quick installation process on site over the beams and conventional shoring posts.

This formwork avoid the need to use ceiling at the rooms, because the system gives the possibility to finished with excellent quality making the special treatment with mesh and epoxy paste for fine finishes.
