Plystone: Floor Substrate

Technical Description

To construct a floor substrate or underlayment, 4x8 feet boards are used with thickness of 20, 22, 25 or 30 mm, with smooth finishing and optionally straight edge, tongue-and-groove or lap joint.

  • Dry Floor Substrate: Used as a plane or flat surface built over a distributed and calculated structure in accordance with standards and procedures recommended, in order to provide a substrate over which diverse elements can be placed to provide the final pavement.
  • As a pouring surface. The substrate works as a permanent concrete pouring form over which to build a low thickness concrete slab that will work as the substrate for rigid types of pavement.

The analysis and solution to diverse technical, functional and constructive requirements should be addressed in the design of a floor substrate:

  • Transmission of loads
  • Acoustical protection
  • Fire protection
  • Thermal insulation
  • Water / air tightness
  • Condensation
  • Possibility to run electrical / piping systems
  • Visual limit.
